MP demands plebiscite on Bodoland

Amid an attempt to settle the vexed Bodoland issue through negotiation, an independent non Boro MP from BTAD area have dared the government to hold plebiscite  to ascertain the veracity of the decade old demands.

Addressing a press conference just before the tripartite talks in New Delhi to discuss the demand, MP Naba Kumar Sarania said most of the people will vote against the separate Bodoland.

He accused the Centre of trying to divide Assam where the Assamese as a nation will have to pay heavy price only because of the government mistake.

Sarania represents BTAD areas in Parliament alleged that the Centre and state governments have never been taking him into confidence when they deal with the demand. “I am of no importance. In Delhi I am less important than Hagrama Mohilary,” said the MP.
