Dhemaji: Prime Minister Narendra Modi dropped hint of the announcement of poll schedule for Assam along with West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry by the first week of March.
Addressing a crowded rally in Silapothar in the north Assam district of Dhemaji on Monday, Modi said that last time the country’s poll panel announced the poll schedule on March 4 and that’s why, it was his guess that the Commission will do it this time by the first week of March.
Opening a slew of government projects, the Prime Minister said that what the north Assam has received since 2014 was never since Independence.
Reiterating the various development initiatives, Modi said,” Bogibeel Bridge was waiting for decades to be completed. It was completed only when this government was installed.”
He further said that the Assam Government would implement the New Education Policy as soon as possible. “This will help the students to get to know all these in mother language. Poor students from tribal areas will be immensely benefit from these initiatives. Eklavya Institutes will be also of immense help,” he said.
