COVID-19 second wave: Kokrajhar observes SOP with shutdown

 KOKRAJHAR: Along with rest of the state, citizens of Kokrajhar town, heart town of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) have observed the SOP (standard of operating procedure) with shutting down all business institutions including shop, market etc which was framed out from state government to combat the COVID-19 situation across the state which was started from 2 pm today. With the ringing of 2 pm today, all shop, markets are seen shut down in Kokrajhar town and it's adjoining areas as per the guidelines reached from the health department and state government to check the COVID-19 situation in the district in the second wave of the Corona virus. Police administration have also carried out an awareness and mass publicity through the Janasanyog miking system among the society in the region. Police administration has urged the citizens to maintain Covid protocol with maintaining social distancing as well regularly hands sanitizing to combat the Corona virus. Notably, till Tuesday, five persons were killed and over 227 persons have been detected active case of COVID-19 in the district of Kokrajhar. People in Kokrajhar have extended support to the government's step to check the COVID-19 protocol and come forward to observe the SOP as government has framed out several guidelines and measures. "We do obey the guidelines reached from government while combating the Corona virus.The present day is very crucial as Corona virus's active cases as well deaths are getting increasing day by day across the state. We must follow strictly the direction and guidelines coming from the state government towards building up a safe and safety environment from deadly Covid situation", said a citizen in Kokrajhar. Meanwhile, the toll of active case of COVID-19 positive in Chirang district has gone up to 185 on Wednesday with reports of 40 more positive cases were detected. Among the active cases,22 are hospital,163 are in home isolation across the district.

Police in Kokrajhar have apprehended four cattle smugglers from two different places in Kokrajhar disrict on Thursday and seized several cattles. Kokrajhar: A Pangolin (Banrow) was rescued at Bhotgaon this afternoon in Kokrajhar today. People from the greater Bhotgaon area thronged in large number to see the Pangolin, a rare species found in Chakrashila wildlife in Kokrajhar. Kokrajhar: A cadre of Kamatapur Liberation Organisation (KLO) was  apprehended by security forces at Serfanguri in Kokrajhar disrict last night.
