SC to hear NRC plea on Aug 20

The Supreme Court has asked Delhi and Dispur to file the status report on updating the National Register of Citizens.

Hearing a writ petition moved by Assam Public Works on Monday, a division bench comprising Justice Ranjan Gogoi and Justice MY Eqbal the Centre and the State to submit the progress report of the NRC update process.

The court will further hear the petition after examining the status report on August 20.
