Bike accident claims 1

In yet another case of reckless driving of two wheelers by teenagers one Jacob Bedi (17) lost his life in a road accident near Indian Oil Depot Tangla on Monday at about 8.45 am. Reportedly the Bajaj Pulsar 150 bearing registration(AS 13 F 0227) number rode by the deceased was pillioned by Bishal Swargiary(17) when all at a sudden the bike smashed in a tractor trailer carrying sand. The deceased was rushed to 30 beded Tangla CHC but he succumbed to his injuries. The pillion rider was luckily saved.


Both the students are HS 2nd year commerce stream students of Presidency Jr. College, Tangla. The deceased is a resident of Bhutiachang TE under Panery PS of Udalguri. The bike belonged to their friend Dipankar Boro(17). The Tangla police rushed the spot and sent the body of the deceased to post-mortem to Udalguri Civil Hospital the tractor involved is absconding till the filling of this report.


Though eye-witnesses said the bike was at a break neck speed which resulted in the accident,the very fact that despite strict guidelines of ban of tractors,dumpers and commercial vehicles in school hours by district administration these moves unabted in the town, paying bribes to police posing threat to live of the people.
