3 injured in mob attack

Sensation seems to have escalated in Barpeta where an irate mob attacked three of a family alleging their involvement in a number of dacoity cases.

The incident took place at Bartari in Barpeta on Tuesday when local residents in large number took out the trio, tied them with a rope on the street and were mercilessly beaten up.

The irate mob further burnt down their house after recovering some stolen and robbed materials including gold chains, mobile phones, watch.

Police rushed to the spot. But the mob refused to disperse initially. Later, the situation was brought under control.
