The Assam Assembly’s brief session gets underway on Monday with a stormy note.
As Governor JB Patnaik endorsed the government measures to restore peace in the state efficiently dealing with the law and order situation, the Opposition members stood up in protest against it.
The Opposition legislators said that the Government has failed on the law and order front. The ruling party members equally countered the Opposition resulting in an uproar situation. Amid the defeaning din, Patnaik stopped his speech within a minute.
A set of news legislation is lined up to be moved on Monday.
Chief minister Tarun Gogoi, who holds the finance portfolio will table the vote on account for four months on February 13 in lieu of a full fledged budget in view of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
The government will be able to run the proceedings smoothly because of the disunity among the Opposition parties in the wake of the Rajya Sabha polls.
