The polling for three Rajya Sabha seats is going on amid speculations of Congress victory. Legislators are making a queue at the voting room to cast their votes.
The polling began at the Assam Assembly at 9 in the morning in presence of the leaders of all political parties. Congress candidate Bhubneswar Kalita, BPF candidate Biswajeet Daimry and Opposition consensus candidate Haidor Hussain are present in the polling office premises.
The polling is set to continue till 4 in the afternoon. The results would be available at 5 in the evening after the seal of approval from the Election Commission.
The polling is required to fill up the three vacancies following the end of the terms for Bhubneswar Kalita, Biswajeet Daimary and Birendra Prasad Baishya.
