Vinod Gohain: Hundreds of north east people staged dharna in front of the Lajpatnagar police station on Friday evening demanding immediate arrest of the goons involved in the gory attack on Nido Tania two days after the Arunachal Pradesh student died in attack.
“we won’t remain silent. We want justice. The culprits must be brought to book. But police officials are refraining from taking prompt action in this regard. That’s why, we won’t allow these to continue,” told Rashmi Baruah to Assam Times.
A section of the protestors are unhappy with the role of the police. “Much to our utter disappointment, police officials initially refused to file the FIR which suggests that they want to allow these to take place at regular interval. But we will fight for justice,” said Akash Saikia who came from Gurgaon to participate in the protest.
