At least ten people were killed and over 20 have been injured in indiscriminate firing by miscreants along Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border in Sonitpur district on Wednesday.
The incident took place at Chauldhua area in the afternoon when miscreants from the neighboring state started indiscriminate firing on a camp of a group of local residents to prevent aggression by a section of Arunachalese.
The firing continued for several hours and security forces rushed to the spot only in the evening. The injured have been rushed to the hospital in the evening only.
But unconfirmed sources told Assam Times that the toll might go up as the sound of firing from the side of Arunachal Pradesh.
A section of local villagers have set up a camp in the area to prevent the aggression by the Arunachalese miscreants.
