NGO Bhawan inaugurated

The chaos in Assamese language regarding alphabets, spelling and pronunciation is not specific to Assam. Bad education system, aggravated by the so-called globalisation, has mashed the language to such an extent that the basic characteristics is gradually losing in the state – thus stated reputed artist, musician of Dibrugarh Syed Sahdullah at Makum on Monday. He attended here as the chief guest in the new building inauguration ceremony of Surjudaya (NGO) of Makum.

Rameswar Dhanowar, MLA of Digboi constituency formally inaugurated the Surjudaya (NGO) bhawan and expressed his satisfaction of activities of NGO, which is devoted for society. He referred the NGO as ray of hope for Tinsukia District.

In the meeting presided over by local social worker Sri Benudhar Gogoi, an unique CD titled ‘Mahapurush Shankar-Madhabor Omor opurva Borgeet – Shyam Muruti’ planned by ‘Surjudaya’ team and sung by Manashi Baruah was inaugurated by Sahdullah. He in his address praised the initiative taken by Surjudaya for socio-cultural boost up, while Sri Pranab Kumar Nath, Field publicity officer of Dibrugarh launched the website of the NGO - www.surjudaya.org. He said -- the news website will help to expand the fame and activities of Surjudaya to web world. Deepak Kumar Indu, educationist and well wisher of ‘Surjugaya’, Tanun Gogoi, District Forest Officer and others also addressed in the occasion. The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Surjudaya director  Akhil Chandra Baruah.
