Gogoi promises 12 seats

Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Saturday assured Rahul Gandhi of a wonderful performance in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

AICC sources told assamtimes that during the one hour long meeting with Gogoi at the party headquarters in New Delhi, the AICC vice president asked Gogoi to ensure victory in all seats. Gogoi is believed to have promised victory in 12 seats.

APCC president Bhubneswar Kalita also was present in the meeting. Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Guwahati also figured in the meeting.

I am not aware of PM directive to Razi: Gogoi

Amidst the report of a simmering tension at the Raj Bhawan following reports of PM's directive to Governor Syed Sibtey Razi to quit, Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said he was not aware of any development in this regard. Assam mourns as governor Mathur dies

Assam Governor Shiv Charan Mathur on Thursday following heart ailment at a hospital in New Delhi. He was 83. The end came at around 8 in the evening at thr Fortis Hospital in the national capital. According to information, the governor complained of respiratory trouble in the evening and was shifted to the Fortis Hospital s few hours after he was released from the Escorts Hospital following his recovery. CBI indicts NDFB chief, 18 others in Assam serial blasts case

The Central Bureau of Investigation says National Democratic Front of Boroland chairman Ranjan Daimary is the prime accused in the October 30 Assam serial blasts case. According to CBI sources, Daimary hatched the plan for the explosions three months earlier. The revelations have come up three days after the invesigating agency chrgesheeted Daimary along with 18 others in the gory serial blast case.According to CBI, after the planning in July NDFB cadres were detailed by Daimary to procure three used cars for the explosions in Guwahati and the details were worked out on October 19.
