Congress is set to win two of the three Rajya Sabha seats in the polls slated for February 7. The ruling party is likely to leave the remaining seat for the Bodoland Peoples’ Party.
Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi gave hint of the equation at a press conference in Guwahati on Wednesday. He said that the equation is simple in view of the continuing alliance between Congress and BPF. But Gogoi refused to divulge the names of the candidates.
Notably, the Election Commission will issue the poll notification on January 21. The poll will take place on February 21 two months ahead of the expiry of the terms for three Rajya Sabha members------Birendra Prasad Baishya from AGP, Biswajeet Daimary from BPF and Bhubneswar Kalita from Congress.
