Tai Ahom National Council demand Rajya Sabha Seat

The Tai Ahom National Council demands demand one seat in the up coming Rajya Sabha election from Assam. According to their Secretary General, Amar Jyoti Arandhara, after Bhadeswar Buragohain, from Asom Gana Parishad, in 1987 during the first term of AGP rule and Drupod Borgohain during the second term of AGP rule, all parties are denying Ahom Candidate for Rajya Sabha seat. So,Arandhara appeal all political parties, specially Congress to field Ahom candidate for Rajya Sabha election.The organisation is also demanding four Lok Sabha Seat and 37 Assembly seat for Ahom dominated area for a long time.

Jhajimukh Festival will be held on February 18-19. On yesterday evening, at Laxmijan stone quarry under Nazira police station of Sivasagar district, Urmila Khatun (29) and her three years son Mejajin Ali died on spot in a stone quarry mishap under 6no quarry of his Mahadev Kurmi is the contractor.
