Nakhuti supermarket foundation stone

Dr. Nazrul Islam, Minister, Food and Civil Supplies, Government of Assam has laid down the foundation stone of a supermarket on 5th December at Nakhuti bazaar under Lumding block. The supermarket will fulfill the long standing demand of the villagers of greater Nakhutia area. Nakhutia and its adjoining panchayat’s   are very remotely situated and far behind in governments development atlas.

A major road accident was occurred near Sarbhog in Barpeta district at around 9 am on Monday. A speeding pick-up van collided with a truck on NH 37. Both the vehicle are coming from Barpeta Raod and moving towards Bongaigaon. The intensity of the collision was so high that both driver and handyman of the ill-fated pick-up van were killed on the spot.  The identity of the deceased was not known till the time of reporting. Police was busy in clearing the NH for vehicular movement.
