Nagaon proud of huge turn out

Nagaon is again proud of a high turn out of voters in the final phase of Lok Sabha polls on Thursday. Counting will take place on May 16. 

The turn out till the closing hour has crossed an encouraging 75 per cent which is set to increase when the Election Commission is set to make a formal announcement on Friday.

Huge lines of voters were seen till 5 in the evening in 1902  booths to exercise their franchise. Heavily guarded by the security forces, the polling officials have been trying to ensure free and fair polls.

The crucial constituency is locked in a triangular contest among BJP Congress and AIUDF. Sitting MPP and BJP candidate Rajen Gohain is facing a tough contest with Congress candidate Junjunali Baruah while AIUDF leader Dr Aditya Langthasa is certainly make a dent the BJP and Congress strongholds.
