A senior lecturer of Assam Don Bosco University School of Technology presented a paper at the International Conference recently held at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati.
Dr. Sontora K Baruah, senior lecturer of the Dept. of Chemistry at Don Bosco College of Engineering and Technology presented her research paper entitled, “Catalytic conversion of reduced graphene oxide into carbon nanotubes.”
“This is an experience for a lifetime and I got to learn many new things from preparing, participating and presenting my research paper at the International conference,” said Dr Baruah commenting on her experience at the International Conference on Advanced Nanomaterials and Nanotechnology.
Dr Baruah added, “I look forward to participating in similar conferences in the near future.” The IIT Guwahati organised the 3rd ICANN from December 1-3. The conference focused on advanced nanomaterials for nano-engineering and recent advances in nanotechnology covering fields from theory and experiments to application of nanostructure materials in technology.
The event hosted a large number of research scholars, professors and renowned dignitaries from not only India but also other countries like Japan, China, Korea and Turkey.
Some noteworthy research papers presented at the conference included –“Graphene-polymer hybrids as chemical and biochemical sensor,” “Synthesis and characterization of uniform sized gold nanoparticles by using chymotrysin and egg albumin,” “Nanomaterials for high performing Li-ion battery electrodes,” and “Carbon nanotubes emerging cold cathode materials for futuristic field emission based devices.”
