Celebration of Hostel-6 Assam Engineering College

Assam Engineering College, Hostel-6 was established in the year 1963 to provide accommodation to the students of the College. From the day of its establishment, it has been "a home away from home" for a generation of engineers. As of now, the Hostel produces around one thousand technocrats serving various places of the world on service to the mankind through technology. The following programs are organized in connection with Golden Jubilee Celebration.

Competition on Technical/Research Paper: To create awareness and increase popularity on research and project work, technical/research papers are invited from the Engineering students of Assam with theme “Conservation of Natural Resources”. 3(three) papers will be selected for suitable monetary reward worth Rs 20,000.00.

AIRCEL Open Quiz Competition: As a part of the Golden Jubilee celebration, it is decided to organize state level open Quiz competition inviting a celebrityas Quiz master to popularize general awareness on Quiz amongst the students of NE states as a measure to guide the youth in the right direction having suitable money reward worth Rs 50,000.00. Seminar: Technological advancement builds new scalable capabilities which have profound impact on the socio-economic, political, and cultural spheres of human life. The scope of this seminar is to provide a platform for academics, researchers, technocrats, professionals, policy makers and business people to share their knowledge of relevant technologies to obviate the problems of inaccessibility and explore the available natural resources & rich heritage for advancement of the country in general and NE Region in particular.

Souvenir: A souvenir will be released on the occasion containing invited articles, abstract papers, technical/ research paper selected for monetary reward, articles from alumni of Hostel-6and messages from dignitaries and advertisements. Participation:

A colourful literary carnival will lead the three day Brahmaputra Literary Festival in Guwahati of northeast India starting on 28 January. A northeast India based technical university has mooted for a community college to impart skill development courses to youths of the region with an aim to improve professional skills and employability.
