GIMT graduation ceremony held
Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Management& Technology (GIMT), Guwahati & Girijananda Chowdhury Institute of Pharmaceutical Science(GIPS) organized its 4th Graduation Ceremony on October 1, 2013 at District Library, Guwahati with a colourful performance.
Dr. Gautam Barua, Former Director, IIT Guwahati and presently the Director of Institute of Information Technology (IIIT, Guwahati) was present as the Chief Guest for the day and. Prof. P.K. Brahma, former director GIMT & GIPS graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Prof. Barua rightly pointed out the fact of Creating jobs i.e stressed on Entrepreneurship that can promote economic growth of the society. He also encouraged reaching out to the common people through various services that can help the deprived sections.
Besides this Ratul Das, President Shrimanta Shankar Academy(SSA), other members of the society, representatives of various colleges, the faculty members, guardians as well as alumni and students were also present for occasion.
The ceremony was organized to felicitate the successful students of the 1st batch of M. Pharm, 2nd batch of Master of Computer application (MCA), 3rd batch of B. Pharm and 4th batch of Bachelor of Engineering as well as MBA of both GIMT & GIPS.
GIMT & GIPS came into existence with a motto of providing quality education with a passion for academic excellence and ensuring alround development of the students to enable them to place themselves as responsible citizens of society as well as skilled and performing professionals in the sphere of their occupation later .Our objectives have found encouraging reflection in terms of the academic achievements.

The Society for Srimanta Sankaradeva, a leading organisation promoting the legacy of Srimanta Sankaradeva, is planning to hold a series of global webinars on different facets of Sankaradeva Studies starting in December 2021. Scholars from India and abroad will take part in the webinars. The Society for Srimanta Sankaradeva is organising a 45 day free residential workshop at Dhing, Nagaon from December 14 on Aharjyabhinaya of Ankiya Bhaona. In this workshop, costume making, ornament making, mask making, make-up etc will be taught practically and elaborately by leading experts of Assam. The objective is that the trainees should set up own workshops for producing these items and thus become self-employed after the training. So only unemployed youths will be trained.
