ARGUCOM meet in Sivasaga

Assam Rajiv Gandhi University of Cooperative Management (ARGUCOM) in collaboration with Sologuri Gaon Panchayat and Department of Rural Development Agency, Sivasagar organised a public meeting at Sivasagar College, Joysagar recently. The aim of the public meeting was to familiarize the local population with the history, aims, objectives and philosophy of the University.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Rafiquz Zaman, Vice Chancellor, ARGUCOM, Hira Deka Bora, Principal, Sivsagar College, SN Chowdhury, Project Director, DRDA (Sivasagar), Dr. Likhak Bora, former Professor, Sivasagar College and noted social worker and Zila Parishad member, Monica Saikia.
Vice Chancellor Dr. Zaman made an elaborate presentation on the history of the University, its present work and the future prospects. He also sought all round cooperation of the public to develop the University into an Institution of Excellence..
Hira Deka Bora expressed willingness on behalf of Sivasagar College to collaborate with ARGUCOM regarding various academic activities. Dr. Likhak Bora urged everyone present to support in the growth of the University. DRDA, Project DirectorSN Chowdhury reiterated his willingness to build an approach road and a community hall at the University site at Demow Pathar.  Monica Saikia wished that the University grow to be a role model institution in the country. Anil Das, BDO, Gaurisagar Block offered vote of thanks to all present there.

Tiger Carcass Found in Kaziranga National Park

The body of a tiger was discovered in the Horonbali Chapori area of Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve, located in Assam’s Biswanath district, on Monday. Government Extends AFSPA in Manipur Amidst Ethnic Clashes
