An online petition campaign to NCERT has been launched by Society for Srimanta Sankaradeva in order to get life and works of Srimanta Sankaradeva incorporated in school curriculum. The link  petition is here.

The Pranab Baruah Artist Award 2012 will be conferred upon eminent sculptor Janak Jhanhkar Narzari on May 19 at a ceremony at Vivekanada Kendra, Guwahati. The award comprises of a recitation, a memo, copies of artist Pranab Baruah’ art-work and cash of rupees 25,000. In yet another case of gross negligence, the ground staff of the Jet Airways has reportedly damaged the filming equipment of a journalist who landed on 30th of July at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati from Mumbai.
