CLP refutes HSDP’s allegation

The Congress Legislative party Members of the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council strongly refuted and condemned the baseless allegations of malpractice, and demand for dissolution of the Council, by the Hills State Democratic Party (HSDP) at a press conference on the 27th of June 2013, stated a press release issued by Shri. Samuel Changsan, MAC, Parliamentary Secretary, Congress Legislative party Hasao Autonomous Council, Haflong on Saturday.

The release maintained that the people of Dima Hasao have just reposed their faith on the principles of democracy, peace and good governance, with a mandate for the Congress party. But with the Council and its Executive Committee yet to be fully formed and functional, the question of alleged “loot raj” and “taking percentage from contractors” does not arise. The departmental work allocation was yet to be initiated, so this proves that the HSDP has issued, yet another false and mechanical allegation without ascertaining the facts.

Rather, parties like HSDP and others must undertake the role of an honest and constructive opposition, so that the mandate of the people of the Hill districts of Assam was respected and the collective responsibility of development through good governance was adhered to.

With a balanced composition of experienced, educated and youthful energetic members, under the dynamic leadership of Chie Executive Member Shri Debojeet Thaosen, the 11th Dima Hasao Autonomous Council was on the threshold of ushering positive changes with determination and vigor.
