Golds for Assam Karate players

Assam players won golds at the International Invitation Karate Championship 2013 held at University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka on June 9.

The winners are Manjit Dihingia – 2 Golds, Raju Kachari – 1 Gold, Dipu Tanti – 1 Gold and Sushmita Paul – 1 Gold.

Chief minister Tarun Gogoi is confident that Congress will be able to retain Dispur. Addressing a press conference in Guwahati on Tuesday, Gogoi said that his party still has good base in the rural Assam. Gogoi said BPF still is an ally of Congress. The third and final list of the contesting candidates for the State polls will be announced on March 9. The notification for the first phase of polls in the State will be issued on March 10. On the other hand, the Trinamool Congress will expand its base in northeast. Party chief Mamata Banerjee has decided to contest all the seats in Assam that goes to the polls on April 4.

Only a month remains for the Assemby polls.AGP is ready to announce its second list of the candidates for the upcoming polls slated for April 4 and 11.
