Inter-village football tournament

In a Nail biting finish in the finals of Hajadisa inter village football tournament organised by Army, Laila Convent School, Didambra defeated Baradigar A Team by a margin of one goal on April 17. Till half time none of the teams were able to score, but as the game progressed, in 56th minute Baradigar team scored the first goal, soon the equalizer was scored by Laila Convent School, Didambra. Last minute goal scored by Laila Convent School, Didambra,sealed the match in their favour.The final result being 2-1. The match was witnessed by a huge gathering of villages from Hajadisa area including school children from different schools.

It is to be mentioned that this tournament was organized by the Army unit deployed in the area with an aim of encouraging peace and harmony in the region. A total of 16 teams participated in this six days tournament which commenced on April 12. Teams were divided into two pools and matches were played on knock out basis.  The first semifinal of the tournament was played between Laila Convent School, Didambra and Thingvom teams in which Laila Convent School, Didambra defeated Thingvom by 04-01 goals.  In second semifinal played on April 16, Baradigar A team defeated Didambra A team by 03 goals.
