Sit-in-dharna at Thekeraguri

More than 500 inhabitants of more than six villages on Saturday  at about 10.30 a.m. staged a strong protest- in-dharna at Thekeraguri near Thekeraguri Railway crossing demanding NF railway authority to keep opening the railway crossing line for the smooth communication for commuters and  pedestrians of their villages. According to the villagers, the rail authority recently announced  that the railway crossing would be closed permanently for commuters and pedestrians following which the villagers staged a strong protest citing slogans against the authority.

Raha, Nagaon: Assam State Transport Corporation(ASTC) bus service from Kampur to Nagaon via Kampur-Raha route was flagged off on August 30 by the divisional superintendent, Apurba Barkakati of ASTC amidst cheers of the local citizens.
