Ghatowar reviews DoNER project in Dima Hasao

Sri Paban Sing Ghatowar, Union Minister of Development of North Eastern Region and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, who is unhappy with the slow pace of construction of work of both the National projects namely Lumding – Silchar BG conversion and East West Corridor through Dima Hasao district disclosed that he would approach the Railway Ministry as well as the Surface Ministry with the request to expedite both the construction work.

Ghatowar was addressing media persons at Haflong after a review meeting held at the conference hall of Dima Hasao Autonomous Council in presence of the Chief Executive Member, Sri Debojeet Thaosen, Chairman, Kur Rongpi, Executive Members Sri Kalijay Sengyung., Prakanta Warisa, L. Hmar, Smt Ranu Langthasa etc. and Government Officials on Monday.

The review meeting was held on the progress of the ongoing projects provided by the DoNER ministry in the district of Dima Hasao. As many as eight numbers of projects with the cost of 44 crores are going on, two numbers out of that are already completed. Minister with great patience tried to understand the problems in executing the entire project while instructing the departmental heads to expedite the works and approach for the pending fund and of course submitting the utilization certificate.

He said for the al round development of the district like Dima Hasao is not at all a problem, the DoNER Ministry is always ready to support, but the work should be done unitedly, no community living in the district should be discriminated in any developmental activities. The Minister further said ‘I am very much happy to see all most all the communities of the district are being represented in the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council’. Appreciating the Chief Executive Member of DHAC Sri Debojeet Thaosen and his team of Executive Members, Sri Ghatowar said ‘ I am sure enough that this team of Executive Members led by Sri Thaosen would not leave any stone unturned for the development of the district and it people.
