Dima Hasao DC fixed February 6 for final hearing on compensation case

The Deputy Commissioner, as well as District Magistrate of Dima Hasao District Sri Barun Bhuyan has fixed February 6 for final hearing and February 4 for joint verification by N F Railway, Revenue Department and the members of the Affected People Rehabilitation Committee in his court on Tuesday, in connection with the payment of compensations to all the affected people of 14 villages of Dautuhaja area as the N F Railway appealed for an adjournment on Tuesday on security ground.

Earlier on December 11, the Deputy Commissioner, Dima Hasao District Sri Barun Bhuiyan had instructed the N F Railway clear up the payment of compensations to all the affected people of 14 villages of Dautuhaja area after joint verification within one month.

At least 245 families of 14 villages of Daotuhaja were affected due to BG conversion and they approached the High Court as the N F Railway was delaying the process on several pretext.

The Deputy Commissioner, Sri Barun Bhuyan talking to this correspondent said ‘the  Railway authority has appealed for adjournment on security ground, I have also directed the Superintendent of Police to provide security as sought for and fixed February 4 for joint verification by N F Railway, Revenue Department and the affected people and February 6  for final hearing.

The affected people hoped that this time the Deputy Commissioner would leave no stone unturned to solve their genuine and longstanding grievance of the people of Dautuhaja in Dima Hasao. They also appreciated the efforts of the Deputy Commissioner as he stood for the people of Dima Hasao genuinely.
