Review meets on road maintenance at Dima Hsao

Expressing serious concern over the delay dallying of NKC and JKM, the Chief Executive Member, Dima Hasao Autonomous Council Sri Debojeet Thaosen warned the NKC, JKM and the representatives of NHAI saying that the DHAC will take over the maintenance work of the existing road from Jatinga to Harangajao and from Jatinga to Mahur if these organisations fail to start their work by tomorrow and will not allow any vehicle of these companies to ply on the road, this was stated in a review meeting held at CEM’s conference Hall on Tuesday.
The meeting was attended by the representatives of NHAI, JKM and NKC and all the heads of PWD, PHE, and Forest department of Dima Hsao.

While discussing, the CEM wanted to know the progress of the work done by the companies which are sole responsible of the maintenance of the existing road and instructed the PWD department to check the progress of the work. He said ‘ we cannot allow anyone to destroy our roads in the name of construction of BG or Mahasarak, we can do of our own.’

The representatives of these companies however, assured the house to start their work immediately while explaining the hurdles faced by the construction company.
Mentioned may be made here that the work standard of NKC is being criticised by the people of Maibang and the people of Maibang also warned the NKC to maintain quality of the work otherwise they will be compelled to block the construction work in near future.
