Prize Money Football starts at Haflong

The Sports Minister Sri Ajit Sing inaugurated the 8th edition of C E M's Cup Invitational Prize Money Football Tournament at NL Daulagupu sport complex on Monday in presence of the Chief Executive Member, Dima Hasao Autonomous Council and others. The inaugural match was played in between Fiangpui Youth Club and Kholkuol Club.


Football teams from within the district of Dima Hasao and outside the district as well as teams from outside the state have confirmed their participation in the tournament. The outstation teams which have confirmed their participation so far are Blood Mouth, Hailakandi, Morning Star, Diphu, KA, DCC Lumding, FC Bethlem, Mizoram, Dimapur XI, Nagaland, Borok FC, Tripura and Youth Organisation Sporting Club Manipur. The 119 TA, Fianpuii Youth Club Kholkuol Club, United Council Youth Club, Digrik Youth Club, Bansodac Memorial football Club, Umrangshu, Niver club, Pangmol Youth Club, Sengyc Tularam Club, Kukistan Youth Club, Denizen Football Club Umrangshu, Warrior of Waimijing, Guidai Club, HBAC, 25 Assam Rifles and Evergreen Club are local teams that will participate in this Invitational Prize Money Football Tournament. The Prize Money for the Champion team will be Rs.l,00,0007-(Rupee: One Lakh) while the runners up team will pocket Rs.50,000/-(Fifty Thousand only).
Assam Sports Minister Sri Ajit Sing assured that he would give top priority to release balance of Rs 66 lakhs for the indoor stadium of Haflong along with other infrastructural development.


The august visit of sports minister of Assam has became a grand event for the people Dima Hasao district of Assam as they got the chance of seeing the sport minister in their district, after 66 years of independence and for the first time.
