Assam chief minister Tarun Gogoi says on Wednesday that his government will continue the initiatives to help the state develope on all fronts. Unfurling the national tri colour at Khanapara in the morning, Gogoi said that the development initiatives are paying dividends.
Gogoi said that the violence-hit people in the refugee camps would be taken care of. Gogoi, who unfurled the tricolour for 12th times took salute of the armed forces and NCC.

Three KPLT militants were killed when security forces launched an intensified operation in Karbi Anglong districts on Wednesday. The incident took place in the wee hours near Dolamara Tarapung area under Borpathar police station in the hills district. According to police, three AK-47 rifles and some ammunition were recovered from the trio. The militants were yet to be identified. Some others managed to escape.
Assam Border Minister Siddeque Ahmed on Tuesday made it plain and simple that Dispur will never tolerate any encroachment on its land by any neighbouring states. Security forces on Saturday intercepted a Bangladeshi national in Guwahati for illegal stay since 1993. He is identified as Subrata Dasgupta who was arrested from a rented house in Islampur area in the wee hours without any valid documents. According to police, preliminary investigation showed that the accused hails from Manikgaon area in Bangladesh's Dhaka district.
The accused was living in Assam for more than 10 years and married an Indian woman from Kolkata five months back, he said.
