All Assam Students Union has warned the government not to allow the immigrants to settle in the name of rehabilitation package. Addressing a press conference in Guwahati on Sunday, the AASU leaders said that they would keep a close vigil on the rehabilitation works to ensure that not even a single immigrant is allowed to get the benefit.

Bodo must look after themselves, do not fall to sweet talk of Gogoi, Sonia or Shinde. They will butcher Bodos for vote bank. We all know about AIUDF, a terrorist organization. North Eastern Frontier Railway on Saturday announced a special train from Dibrugarh in to Yesvantpur to ferry the students of the north eastern region and north Bengal to appear for medical and engineering entrance tests in Bangalore.
According to NF Railway, the special train will ply on May 1 and it will leave Yesvantpur on May 4. The return 02509 special train will leave on May 7 and reach Dibrugarh on May 10. Every year thousands of students from the region aspiring for medical and engineering careers go to Bangalore for appearing joint entrance tests.

Two people died and two others were injured in a road mishaps in Jorhat district on Friday night.A woman was killed while her husband and two kids were injured in an accident at Panisoku near Pulibor in Jorhat district on Friday night. The incident took place at NH-37, when a Tata Indica car, in which the family was travelling, was hit by a trailer truck. The deceased woman was identified as Pompy Borthakur. The injured were rushed to Jorhat Medical College Hospital in critical condition.

At least two people were killed and 25 others were injured in a road mishap in Barpeta district on Wednesday midnight.
The incident took place at Garhchuk near Bajali when a wedding bus skidded off the National Highway. The bus on the way to Simala-Bajai Bhethua, when the driver of the vehicle lost control and fell off the highway. The deceased duo were identified as Irak Bodo and Shukra Barman, died on the spot and 25 others were injured. The injured people were rushed to the hospital.
