Thai Delegation in North East

Guwahati: A high-level Thai delegation will visit the North-Eastern Region from June 22 to 25 June. Disclosing this an official statement informs that led by led by Mr. Krirk-Krai Jirapaet, Minister for Commerce, Thailand the delegation will go to Agartala, Guwahati and Shillong to discuss in detail and deliberate with ministers of industry and commerce. Minister for DoNER, Mani Shankar Aiyar will be accompanying the delegation.. The Thai delegation will also acquaint themselves on various issues related to handicraft, handloom, power, roads, tea, tourism, horticulture, etc. Interaction between officials / businessmen of Thailand and India have also being organized.

Thailand and India have lot of similarities in geographical and biodiversity features. It would be a great advantage to North Eastern Regions, if, Thailand can partner in areas of road construction, river transport, rubber industry and silk industry. It is expected that this visit will boost cooperation between Thailand and North Eastern Regions of the country
