In yet another bizarre incident that leaves everybody surprise, a full grown leopard was killed after it attacked two villagers in Golaghat district on Wednesday. The incident took place in the morning at Kamarbandha's Basa Bharalua Kanimahal Chariali when the leopard first attacked one Mahen Saikia on his way to the paddy field.
Another person, Prafulla Saikia, then went in search of the animal and he was attacked by the leopard. Prafulla also attacked the leopard with a machete which he was carrying with him. The severely injured leopard died before medical help could be provided. Police and forest department officials reached the spot soon after. The duo the injured persons have been admitted to a local hospital.
