Probe PC Ram case afresh: Court tells CBI

A special court in Guwahati has asked the Central Bureau of Investigation to institute a fresh probe into the PC Ram killing case.
The order was issued on Friday a day after the son of the FCI executive director moved the court alleging that the charge-sheet filed in the case was incomplete. Ram’s son in his petition raised doubts over CBI’s sincerity alleging that the investigation has failed to unearth the truth and that no one has been named in the charge-sheet.
The court on Friday asked the CBI to probe the case afresh. PC Ram, the FCI executive director for the north eastern region was kidnapped in lower Assam and was killed in cross-fire with security forces in the outskirt of Guwahati nearly two months after the kidnap. The government handed over the case to the CBI which filed the charge-sheet before a special court.
