Research book on literature released at Nazira

The Woman cell of Nazira College has published a book on Assamese literature "Akhaidha Hadhan", which is released by Aboni Borthakur, Founder and retired Principal of Nazira college. Some essential topics of noted litterateurs are included in this book which is edited by Luis Handique and Sujata Borthakur, lecturers of Nazira college.

Dillibari Gaon Panchayat, under Tingkhong development block has laid the foundation stone of gravel road in the Amarjyoti Arandhara, the secretary general of Tai Ahom National Council on Monday at Ghahi Pathar, under MNREGA scheme. The total length of the road will be 6.5 kilometer and it will cost about 4 lakh. The Tai Ahom National Council demands demand one seat in the up coming Rajya Sabha election from Assam. One Babul Gogoi (12) died in a mishap at Santak-Gorchuk, Simoluguri on Saturday. The mishap occured when the deceased was collecting money for a Bihu Sonmilon, organised locally at Kenduguri. The boy with his friends was collecting of money from vehicles plying on the Romoni Ali, which connects Simoluguri and Naginimora. When they tried to stop a dumper coming towards Simoluguri who refused to stop and the members tried to stop the vehicle forcefully. According to eye witness, the deceased climbed up on the vehicle to stop it. After runing few distance the vehicle slipped away from the road and the deceased came under the Vehicle and died on the spot.

Foundation stone of anti-erosion protection scheme at Dikhow river, near Achala Pathar-Dihingia Gaon, was laid down by Rajib Luson Pegu, Water Resource Minister of Assam. The total estimate for this scheme is Rs.6.80 crore. According to the technical specification, 500 meters dyke with modern geo-tube technology and 1300 meters embankment will be constructed under this scheme.
