One shot dead near Kalaigaon, attempt to loot foiled

One Dulal Das (50) son of late Manindra Das of Tangla has been shot dead by an unidentified extremist group of six at Kendutal,6 KM from Kalaigaon town at 3 PM on October 18.According to information,killed Das,manager of Patowary company,Tangla was carrying a cash amount of Rs.39 lakhs from SBI Mangaldai for Borangajuli TE in his Maruti Alto accompanied by three police security and Banker S.Kundu.Their vehicle was intercepted at Kendutal by six youths coming from Tangla in a Tata Sumo.Equipped with 9 MM pistol and AK-47,they started firing at the Maruti car resulting death of Dulal Das on spot. Security personals retaliated fire which compelled miscreants to escape. Debajit Deuri,SP, Udalguri ;TR Pegu,SDPO, Bhergaon along with Army officials of 315 Field Regiment and 2 Field Regiment visited the spot for further investigation. Empty and live cartridges and a 7.65 pistol magazine were recovered near the spot.
