A high level Central monitoring team led by Dr. R. Barbaruah, National Consultant, (Assam & Arunachal Pradesh) under Rashtriya Krishi Vikash Yojana(RKVY) visited the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, AAU, Nagaon on the 14th September, 2011. In the beginning, Dr. T.P.Saikia, the outgoing Programme Coordinator of the KVK gave detail account of activities undertaken by the Station with the fund received through the University from RKVY. The team also visited the various integrated farming system model units constructed in the KVK farm under RKVY and lauded the quality of construction works. They also appreciated the efforts of the KVK scientists in overall development of the farm as well as these model units for the benefit of the farming community of the district. The team was also accompanied by Sri D.K.Baruah, Executive Engineer from the Department of Agriculture and other higher officials of the department. The newly appointed Programme Coordinator of the KVK, Dr. Mrinal Saikia and other specialists of the Station were also present during the visit of the team. It may be mentioned that the KVK received a total fund of Rs. 28.86 lakh during the 2009-10 and 2010-11 financial year for development of various integrated farming system models in its farm.
The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Nagaon organized in collaboration with Indian Farmers’ Fertilizer Cooperatives Limited (IFFCO) a training course on Crop Production and subsidiary occupations during March 12-13, 2010 at Shillongani, Nagaon for Krishak Mitras and Village Co-coordinators (farmers) of IFFCO villages of the state of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
A brief inaugural ceremony on this occasion was also held where Dr. B.Barman, Chief Scientist, RARS, Shillongani graced the occasion as Chief Guest. He offered his thanks to IFFCO for organizing the programme at Shillongani and hoped that more such programmes would be held in future for the greater interest of the farming...
