Abiogenesis charms Bhutan with Howey music Bamhum

The silence of the beautiful green valley of Thimpu, the capital city of Bhutan was broken with the the eruption of Howeymusic by International Indian band Abiogenesis from Dimapur, Nagaland on 15th August 2011 in front of a mammoth gathering at the Clock Tower, at the heart of Thimpu from 2 pm. This was the launch of Bhutan Star season 3, the most popular reality show in Bhutan to find the best singing star in Bhutan. Moa a band member was asked to sign at the Bhutan Star certificates which were given to the participants. Abiogenesis performed their brand of Howey music from their three albums Aeon Spell, Rustic Relish and Slice of Heaven. The crowd was very responsive and sang Howey Howey along with Arenla, the vocalist of the band.


Then later in the evening on the same day, from 7 pm onwards, Abiogenesis performed at the Indian Ambassadors 800 capacity hall at the Indian Embassy in Bhutan fully packed by dignitaries. The programme was organized by the Indian Embassy to celebrate the 65th Anniversary of Indian Independence Day. When the band started performing, the crowd started clapping and sang howey along. After the show, the band members were presented bouquet by Her Majesty the Queen Mother Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuk. Other dignitaries included the Prime Minister of Bhutan along with His cabinet ministers and MPs, 2 Princesses from the Royal Family, Diplomats of various Embassies in Bhutan, The Indian Ambassador and His lady wife, Director of Nehru Wangchuk Cultural Centre, Thimpu etc. The Prime Minister commented to the band after the show that it was fantastic and that you will be coming back to Bhutan. Everyone praised for this new form of world music and were all enchanted by the sound of the Bamhum. Both the above shows were shown live on Bhutan National Television CBBS and this channel is available in 42 countries. The shows will be rebroadcast for a week.



Abiogenesis third performance at Bhutan was at Phuntsoling at the Phuntsoling Higher Secondary Schools auditorium. The packed 1000 capacity crowd went frenzy when the concert kicked off at 7 pm on 18th August 11 who sang and danced along with the music. The young and newly found fans were seen asking for autographs and taking pictures with the band members after the show. The phuntsoling show was organized by the Consulate General of India, India House, Phuntsoling, Bhutan. Abiogenesis Bhutan Tour was coordinated by the Director, Nehru Wangchuk Cultural Centre, Thimpu, Bhutan.

A NDFB-S rebel identified as Buddhiram Basumatary alias Birkw of Amteka Debrabil in Chirang district was apprehanded from Karigaon area in Kokrajhar by security forces belonging to the Army on Sunday morning.
