Dima Hasao Bandh spontaneous

The Autonomous State Demand Committee, Dimasa Students’ Union, ASDC Mahila Sangathan and Dimasa Women Society called 12 hours Dima Hasao Bandh totally disrupted the normal life in Dima Hasao today (Monday).

Today’s bandh was called for immediate release of Sri Mohet Hojai, Ex- CEM of the Autonomous Council and others from judicial custody, who are still in confinement under NIA case No. 01/09 and 02/09.

All the Government and semi-government offices remain closed except Deputy Commissioner’s Office and SP’s Office but with thin attendance. All the financial institutions, markets and even the educational institutions remain closed. All the private and government vehicles were off the roads. But the running of trains was normal. The Bandh was altogether total, spontaneous and peaceful. No untoward incidents reported so far.
