Free medical camp held in Shillong


Shree Marwari Panchayat (SMP), Shillong alongwith Dorbar Dong Demseiniong, Shillong organised a free medical camp of Osteoporosis, Neuropathy, Orthopedics, ENT, General Medicine, Random Blood Sugar Testing, Maleria Test, Uric Acid Test and Vaccination. All these testing were conducted with the help of modern computerised machines and 14 doctors from different streams at Dorbar Dong Demseiniong, Dorbar cum Community hall, Near NEEPCO, Shillong on July 9, 2011.


Total numbers of patients checked were 635, general patients checked were 490, Ent doctor checked 36 patients, orthopaedic doctor checked 109 patients, osteoporosis 32, ostiopenia 39 out of which 38 patients were found normal, Newropathy 21 all were found normal, Uric acid test 54 out of which 22 were found with high uric acid, random blood sugar test 73 detected 9 and malaria 10 tests out of which one was found positive.


In his speech the chief guest deputy chief minister Bindo M. Lanong appreciated the camp the free medical camp organised by Shree Marwari Panchayat, Shillong and Dorbar Dong Demseiniong, Shillong and said that such camps are required at different intervels at different villages, adding he said, this was one of the biggest medical camp.


Lanong further said that such camps are needed for the BPL families of every locality, as these families are shy of going to hospitals or nursing homes. Lanong also observed that NEIGRIMS being so close to the area still people thronged to this successful free medical camp. Marwari community is known business community and they are equally good in social activities, he also appreciated Demseiniong Dorbar Dong for their untiring support for the medical camp.


The doctors, nurses and technical staff who all supported and helped in organising this free medical camp were all felicitated during the function, apart from these Journalist Rajoo Sharma, managing editor of The Northeast Today was also felicitated by Dorbar Dong Demseiniong and SMP for his contribution to the society in the field of media activities.


SMP vice president Bimal Bajaj gave the background of Shree Marwari Panchayat, Shillong, stating that this Panchayat was established in 1926 since then a munber of social activities have been taken up from time to time. Special guest during the function was NEIGRIMS deputy director Dinesh Sawkmie.


The function was chaired by Omprakash Agarwala, the gathering was welcomed by assistant Demseiniong rangbah dong Edmund Kurbah, others who spoke on the occasion include advisor Dorbar Dong Demseiniong R. Mawroh, Rangbah Dong Demseiniong A Blah, SMP president GL Sharma, Chairman cum Rangbah Shnong Laitumkhrah SB Nongdhar and the vote of thanks was proposed by Demseiniong Seng Longkmie president Kong Sabrina Nongkynrih.
