12 shops gutted as fire broke out at Dudhnoi
As many as twelve shops were gutted in a major fire that broke out at the market near NH 37 at Dudhnoi town in Goalpara District in the early hours on Friday. The fire that started accidentally in a cloth store quickly spread to ten other neighbouring shops before amassing a huge part of the market. However, the exact cause of the fire has not yet been established. The inferno soon raised an alarm amidst the gathering crowds who immediately called the fire service to extinguish the blazing fire. But the damage was already done before it could be controlled. Although no injury was reported, the gross damage incurred was estimated at around one crore rupees.

Eight persons were killed and 40 others injured, ten of them critically, when a bus collided with a 10-wheeler truck at Rangjuli in Goalpara district on Monday.
