Meritorious students felicitated by AASU

All Assam Students Union, Golaghat Dist unit today organized a special felicitation ceremony at Amateur Theatre Hall to felicitate the top performers of the district in the recently declared HS and HSLC examination. All total 291 meritorious students and 64 head of educational institutes, who have shown brilliant performances in the examination, were felicitated in the program. Out of the 291 students three were rank holder in the HSLC examination. They were Borenya Saikia 8th position holder, Dipankor Jyoti Bora 15th position holder and Akshay Agarwal 17th position holder. Dr. Pradip Kumar Bhuyan, Registrar of Dibrugarh University, was the chief guest and Sankar Prasad Roy, General Secretary of All Assam Students Union was the guest of honour on the occasion. The meeting was presided by Raju Phukan, President Golaghat District AASU.

The ongoing economic blockade in protest against the atrocities of Nagaland Police over the students of Assam has reached its third day today. The All Assam Students Union has begun indefinite economic blockade against Nagaland.
