Irregularities in appointment in Dima Hasa

People of Dima Hasao expressed serious concern over the reported irregularities in the process of appointment of one Ananta Raj kumar as the administrative officer in the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Dima Hasao.

It is learnt that on 13th May 2009, an advertisement was invited seeking application through proper channel by the Deputy Commissioner, erstwhile N. C. Hills for the post of Administrative Officer in the office of the Deputy Commissioner, N. C. Hills, and last date for the submission of the application was June 5th 2009.

Accordingly 3(three) applications were forwarded to the Commissioner & Secretary to the Govt of Assam by the Deputy Commissioner, N.C.Hills on July 13th, 2009 vide NCHG/E-15/2009-10/60/1857 dt. Haflong the 13th July/09 signed by the then Deputy Commissioner, Sri S Jagganathan.

But with utter surprise, it is found that one Ananta Rajkumar Sr. Asstt. of the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Dima Hasao was appointed as the administrative officer vide notification No GAG9B0385/2009/53 dated Dispur, 26th April 2011, who applied on February 21,2011 and his application was forwarded only on February 21st, 2011 vide NO.NCHG/E-15(A)2010-11/8876 dated the 21st Feb/2011 from the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Dima Hasao, (Nazarat Branch).

When the pressmen contacted Sri Ananta Rajkumar, he reluctantly admitted that he had applied on February 21, 2011 and he has been appointed as the Administrative Officer on 26th April 2011 without appearing any interview. And the two among three candidates Smt Gopa Chowdhury and A. Teron said they were not invited for any interview though they had submitted their application through proper channel till date

Now the people of Dima Hasao argued, how did the government accept the application of Ananta Raj kumar who applied after the expiry of stipulated date of advertisement? How Ananta Raj kumar was appointed during a period, when model code of conduct was effective. Why no interview was conducted for Sri Rajkumar? Why all the three candidates who had submitted their application in time were not invited for any interview?
