The Continuous raising price of Essential Commodities in Sivasagar district effect the people severely. Nobody take any action to control the price hike.
The price of 1kg. Onion was Rs.12 in 2003 and now it is going up to Rs. 25 to 28 per Kg.

Nazira police have booked a78 year old person for allegedly molesting a minor girl who happens to be his grand daughter. The shocking incident took place at Nazira Khankar gaon on Saturday last where Ghana Khanikar molested the 7 year old girl. But the complaint was filed a couple of days later. Hundreds of activists from the Brihottar Asomiya Youva Mancha in Nazira burnt the effigy of Union home minister Rajnath Singh alleging his failure to curb the incidents of racial attacks on the north east students in other parts of the country. Preparations are afoot for holding a state level convention in Nazira on ethnic identity of the Assamese. Film actor Dinesh will open the convention organized by the Pragatishil Jatiya Nagarik Mancha of Assam at the Kaliprashad Memorial public library on October 30. The convention will discuss safeguarding the ethnic identity of the Assamese people, demand for decentralisation of powers and prevent illegal migration and the measures to strengthen the Assamese nationality.
