1st Lt Ajir Thaosen Memorial Football Tournament concludes

With the playing of final game in between Guidai Club and Raja Harishchandra Memorial Club of Maibang at Dishru Playground on May 3, the 1st Lt Ajir Thaosen Memorial Football Tournament – 2011 concluded .


Late Ajir Thaosen was an officer of DHD who was reportedly killed on February 25, 2003 near Harangajao by some unidentified militants.


This tournament was organized by the Dima Halam Daogah (DHD) in fond memory of Late Thaosen started on April 15th.All together 19 teams from Dima Hasao took part in the tournament.


Sri L. Nampui, Executive Member, Dima Hasao Autonomous Council attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest while Sri Dilip Nunisa, Chairman. DHD attended as the Guest of Honour alongwith his colleagues.


Guidai Club lifted the Champion Trophy by beating Raja Harishchandra Memorial Club scoring 4-3 goals.


Later prizes were distributed by the dignitaries present in the function.

Rail communication yet to restore between Lower Haflong and Badarpur

The Rail communication between Lower Haflong and Badarpur, Hill section of N F Railway which was disrupted from June 3 last due to heavy landslide along with shrinkage between Mailongdisa and Harangajao caused by continuous rain on Saturday night is yet to be restored. A stretch of 150 mts of railway track at 133 Km is totally washed away. Haflong boys brought laurel to Dima Hasao by securing 1st and 7th position in HS Examination -2012. Sankhya Chakraborty son of Sri Jagannath Chakraborty and Sumita Chakraborty and Rajshekhar Nath son Rajat Nath and Susmita Chakarborty Nath of Haflong. Militants nabbed

Acting on tip off Langting Police apprehended three suspected cadres of Dimasa National Revolutionary Front (DNRF) from Lungding Phonglo village between Manderdisa and Hatikhali near Maibang on Tueday at 8.30 PM. They are identified as Naren Basumatari-19, Surajit Hagjer--20, Samar Daolagupu – 22 of Hatikhali. Three numbers 9mm pistol, ammunition and some incriminating documents were recovered from them. Minor died after rape at Haflong
