Akhil urges Raha voters to oust Congress


Hightlighting the large scale corruption and scams done by Congress Government both in the centre and the state the peasent leader Akhil Gogoi of Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti ( KMSS ) urged the voters of Raha not to vote for the congress candidate in the second phase election to be held at Raha on April 11 next.


Addressing a huge public rally today at Raha Sports field, the RTI activist said that Congress party’s manifesto had nothing to say about the issue of big dams and price rise, which reflects their stance towards the common man’s problems which is why it is high time for people to oust Congress party from both the centre and the state.


“I would like to appeal to the voters of Raha not to vote for the congress candidate as the party has given birth a rampant corruption ranging from public distribution system to N C hills scam besides imposing Company Raj and Mafia Raj on the ordinary people “ Gogoi said. He further appealed to the voters to exercise their rights in the polling in a big way against the Congress party and save the state from dying. He also flayed the party for not showing interest to solve the issues faced by common people of the society.


The meeting was also attended by KMSS president Molan Laskar and other KMSS Raha unit officials.

An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of Raha police station committed suicide by shooting himself at his official residence on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Subhash Gogoi posted at Raha police station in May 21,2015. Marred by a slew of untoward incidents, the 12 hour central Assam bandh concluded on Monday evening called by 8 organizations demanding the proposed AIIMS in Raha. The untoward incident took place when a section of bandh supporters tried to enforce bandh call by pelting stones and water bottles at some vehicles on the National Highway No 37 in Raha. Two persons were injured when suspected militants lobbed a grenade on a hardware shop named Khatuwala hardware at Raha chariali on National Highway 37 on Tuesday evening police said. The suspected ultras hurled a grenade on the shop at 6.45 p.m, police said. Police said the grenade missed the intended target and exploded on the entrance of the shop causing splinter injuries to two laboures of the shop. The polling in Raha LAC (SC) passed off peacefully except one incident of malfunctioning of EVMS at 104 no. Sial Bhangi LP Schooli. The brisk polling was witnessed in the morning on Monday at several polling stations at Raha and its outskirts.
