CPIM general secretary Prakash Karat says that his party would raise the multi crore scam in NC Hills of Assam in parliament. Addressing a press conference in Guwahati on Monday, Karat said siphonning off money meant for poor people is a grave and an unpardonable crime and that the guilty persons deserve punishment. Karat along with top party leaders held a brainstorming meet to formulate strategy for the upcoming assembly polls in Assam.
Three blasts early in the morning have dampened the spirit of the 62nd Independence Day celebrations in Assam. According to information, two blast have jolted Dhubri in the morning. The first one is near the Mahamaya tank while another took place in Dhubri town where two have been left injured.There is yet another blast at Kajalgaon in Chirang district. However, no casualty has been reported so far.
