Jiten Gogoi's Open Challenge to Atul Bora

Jiten Gogoi, the present MLA of 93 Bokakhat Assembly Constituency has threatened to attack physically Atul Bora, General Secretary of AGP and AGP's intending candidate for the coming assembly election,at any point of time. The threatening is issued publicly at a television channel on December 18. This was telecast in the evening news on the channel. Gogoi has even declared that his organization “Bokakhat Nirman Got” has already taken decision in a meetings to attack Atul Bora physically and also in a public meeting with the help of his partymen. Talking to Assam Times, Atul Bora said that he has doubt about the sanity of MLA Gogoi and he will lodge an FIR in the Bokakhat Police Station.

From providing elephant safari to tourists and ensuring the security of Kaziranga National Park the departmental elephants are used in various activities of the park. These departmental elephants were given medical treatment at various times but for the first time the elephants have been medically examined for TB and proper treatment would be provided if any elephant is found affected by it. Railway Police at Furkating Junction in Golaghat District recovered two 9 mm pistols and a grenade from a Moriani bound train on Friday night. The train which was coming from New Jalpaiguri, enters Furkating Junction at 9.55 pm. When Railway Police entered the compartments for routine check-up, on suspicion they interrogated a passenger named Sakti Danda Singh belonging to Chelenhat in Jorhat District. The latter fled the place leaving behind his bag from where the police recovered the arms. After some time the police managed to arrest the absconding Mr. Singh from under a culvert.
