Nabajit Das brings glory to Barpeta

Nabajit Das, Lecturer of Zoology of B.H. College, Howly, Barpeta recently participated in the 23rd Biennial congress of International Primatological Soceity (IPS) held from September 12-18 at Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan. He attended the congress on invitation from the IPS to presented on "Status & conseravation of Bengal Slow Loris (Nycticebus Bengalensis) in the north-east India". The scholars attending the congress from across the world deeply appreciated the paper presented by Das. After being selected by International Primatological Society, he is also successfully participated in the pre-congress training programme on primate conservation, held in Kyoto University o September 7-12, Kyoto, Japan and received wide applauses.


Nabajit Das is actively associated with Guwahati based "Primate Research Centre NE India", the lone research organization on the primates in the entire North-East India. He is currently his research on the Bengal Slow Loris, the only nocturnal primate species of North-East India under the supervision of prof. P.C. Bhattacharjee, former head of the dept. of Zoology, Gauhati university.
