20 Udalguri child scientists to attend state NCSC at Silchar


The names of twenty qualified child scientists of Udalguri district have been announced. The National Children's Science Congress Udalguri district session was held at Ramswarup Agarwalla Memorial English School,Udalguri on September 24. M. Banu, Inspector of Schools, Udalguri hoisted the NCSC flag at 9 am in presence of thousands of students, teachers and high ranking officials. The district session which was inaugurated by SS Meenakshi Sundaram,DC,Udalguri, was attended by distinguished scientists of the state namely - Dr. SK Choudhury, Director, ASTEC; Dr. Anil Kumar Goswami, President, Pragjyotish Amateure Astronomers Association, Guwahati; Mihir Kumar Barua, ADC,Udalguri; Babul Bora, Curator, Guwahati Planetarium; Palash Ahom, EAC, Udalguri etc. A total of 115 Nos of projects from 30 schools had been presented in the session on the focal theme - Land Resources:Use for Prosperity, Save for Posterity.


The selected child scientists are -(1) Pranabjyoti Deka & Sagarika Sarma of Tangla Adarsha Vidyapith; (2) Pallabi Borah & Susmita Kar of Arunodoi Academy,Tangla; (3) Nina Mahalia & Ajanta Borah of Jatiya Vidyalaya,Assam, Tangla; (4) Siba Prasad Boro & Pranjal Rabha of Tangla HS School; (5) Saurav Upadhaya & Sanjeeb Saikia of Ramawarup Agarwalla Memorial English School, Udalguri; (6) Bhupali Hazarika & Brasha Rani Deka of Orang HS School; (7) Rituparna Bora & Farhana Wahid of Kalaigaon HS School; (8) Pradymna Barua & Jogen Sarania of Khagara High School; (9) Mainao Ramchiary & Usha Rani Basumatari of JB Hagjer High School,Rowta and (10) Rupkumar Mandal & Pratim Pol Deka of Sankardev Vidya Niketan, Mazbat. The selected child scientists will represent Udalguri district in the state NCSC session to be held at Assam University campus at Silchar from 27 to 30 October, 2010
